Arya has performed well in the film madrasapattinam. He acts as a dhobi in the film and emy jackson plays the role of a british lady. The main story is focussed on the pair's love. This story happens in the period of 1945-1947. The Director Vijay took care that the movie doesn’t get the label of a patriotic film and the amount of focus of the freedom struggle will be equal to that of main star cast love story. The story starts with a funeral where a old british lady is seen sad and later she is found to have some clot on the brain. She wishes to go to India to complete her uncompleted works.

The contemporary Chennai evokes periodic flashbacks in her memory and that's how we meet a dhobi and wrestler Ilamparidhi, also called Paridhi (Arya), who lived in the pre-Independence period of India. Paridhi, from the dhobi (washerman) community, lives in Washermanpet area, and washes the clothes of the British people. Amy's meeting with Paridhi coincides with his community's fight against the government's decision to build a Golf ground in the colony of dhobis. They love each other and her father comes to know about their love and orders his men to kill paridhi secretly and sends emy to delhi. But emy escapes from the train and comes to madras in search of paridhi. The rest is the climax of the film.

The movie is all set to be released on june 18. The film is simultaneously releasing in Hindi as ‘Raavan’ and in Telugu as ‘Villain’. The title song ‘Veera…’ (‘Beera…’ in Hindi) has been crooned by the same singer Vijay Prakash of ‘Hosanna…’ fame along with Keerthi Sagathia. The Additional African vocals are rendered by Mustafa Kutoon. Karthik’s ‘Usure Pogudhey…’ is expected to be the Tamil version of ‘Behene De…’ and music maestro A R Rahman has picked Shreya Ghoshal for ‘Kalvare…’ (Presumably Rekha Bharadwaj’s ‘Kili Re…’).

Hi Friends!! Yesterday i went to watch the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers. As it was the first match in chennai everyone was eager to see this match. I went by train and when the train reached the chepauk railway station everyone shouted slogans favouring Chennai Super Kings. There was a long queue in the stadium and it took a long time to reach the seat. I could see all the players practising for the match. Deccan captain Gilli won the toss and elected to bat. The match started and the crowd were at its peak in cheering. A dog appeared in the field and it delayed the match for sometime. There was no effort taken to take the dog out of the field. Finally the players adjusted and played the match. Deccan played especially well and scored 191 runs. It was a treat to watch the game of Gilli and Symonds. Chennai could not score the mammoth score and lost the match which disappointed the home crowd. After the match was over we caught the train and reached home safely. Really I enjoyed this match.

On wednesday morning a mob attacked the entrance of the ashram, pelting stones and pulling down banners and hoardings of the Swamiji, setting them a blaze. They tore the godman's portraits and damaged the decorative lamps at the ashram's gates, which were closed. Also fire broke out around 4.30 p.m. in the huts which are in the campus if the ashram. A police force of at least 150 personnel was deputed to the ashram and senior officials, including Ramanagara District Superintendent S.B. Bisanahalli, were around. Entry was strictly prohibited and barring the sevakas (volunteers) there were no strangers inside the ashram. It was in the middle of this that the fire broke out. So police doubt whether it was done to burn some important evidences.

Ranjeetha and rakshitha were the main actress involved in the scandal. Also some sources say another famous heroine with starting letter 'yu' was involved in this matter. The nithyanandar statue in tiruvanamalai was broken into pieces by the angry mob and forest dept had found some 50 to 60 kgs of sandal wood trees in the ashram and also searching for tiger skin as it was rumoured that swamiji slept on tiger skin. Also it is rumoured that swami escaped to the himalayas. The hindu forward leader strictly said that they wont leave nithyananda to enter the tiruvanamalai district. The ashram is located on a 50-acre plot. The swamiji was in talks with real estate agents and farmers to acquire 500 acres near Bidadi and Ramnagaram to expand his ashram.

The Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam's website, meanwhile, termed the video “defamatory”, claiming that it is “a mix of conspiracy, graphics and rumour”. It said the organisation was contemplating legal recourse.

A Sagarkiran plane crashed into a building in Hyderabad's residential area today. According to reports, the crash occurred during an air show at the Begumpet airport. One person died and five were injured when a Navy plane crashed at an international aviation exhibition on Wednesday. Unconfirmed reports say the plane hit a building in a residential area near Begumpet airport in Hyderabad.

The pilot's fate was not known. Indian Navy spokesman Commander P V Satish confirmed the accident but did not provide details. Witnesses said they heard a loud boom, after which the plane went down. A thick cloud of smoke rose to the sky near the Begumpet airport following the accident. Vijay's 49th film Vettaikaran is running sucessfully in Theatres and so his fans started to expect more from his 50th film. The 50th film has been titled Sura. Vijay’s 50th film Sura is a remake of Malayalam super star Mohanlal’s Chota Mumbai (2007), directed by Anwar Rasheed. Sura is being directed by S.P. Rajkumar and produced by Sangili Murugan, But director S.P. Rajkumar has refused to reveal anything on the film’s storyline. Vijay will have Tamannaah as a heroine. Ashwin Sundar completed a fine run in the Formula 1600 class by winning the championship in the MRF Challenge series, here Sunday(14th feb 2010). While the 20-year-old from Chennai took the first 15-lap race quite comfortably, he had to fight his way in the second that he began in the sixth spot due to reverse grid. After moving up a couple of positions in the opening lap, Sundar slipped past the front runners and once ahead, pulled away for a commanding victory. The Saloon Car race dished out some surprise results after championship leader Sailesh Bolisetti suffered ECU problems in the very first lap and lost track position, allowing Siddharth Kishore to win comfortably from R. Sriram and Nithvin S. Ravindran.

However, the cynosure this day was Tamil actor Ajith Kumar who presence on the Formula 1600 grid pulled in record crowds. But then, the script went away in the first race when Ajith’s car got stuck in one gear and could not start the 15-lapper. The situation grew tense as a section of spectators turned restive before Ajith decided to put in a few laps at slow speed just to placate his fans who subsequently jumped the barriers and invaded the paddock to get a closer look at their hero. Police and security helped to keep the situation under control. Ajith, however, had no problems in the second race though he started from the back of the grid and finished seventh out of eight finishers.

Sameera Reddy, the hot actress from Bollywood who wowed Tamil audiences with her very down-to-earth and girl-next-door performance in Vaaranam Aaiyram, is teaming up with Thala in Aasal. A movie made only for comedy. All the tamil heroes are targetted for comedy. This movie is a spoof on commercial mass movies that follow the same formula. Hero will fall in love with a rich girl, however she is out of reach of him and definitely gets her and then fights with her father who is a damn politician for the sake of his ethics. Well as per the story, plot and acting , both deserves a rating of 3 star. Every cliché and formula that makes mass movies has been lampooned in a funny manner that tickles the funny bone. Our hero Shiva (Mirchi Shiva) is born on a rainy day in a village and the new born speaks to his grandmother (Parvai Muniamma) that his dream is to go to Chennai to become a man for all seasons like a typical Tamil film hero. In Chennai, the boy pedals on a cycle and as years pass become a larger than life hero who takes on the scum of the earth and turns into the “friendly neighbourhood guy who gets things done.”

Like all Tamil heroes he goes to college and hangs around with his friends Nakul (MS Bhaskar), Siddharth (Manobala) and Bharath (Venniradai Moorthy) a dig at Tamil cinemas ageing comedians who pretend to be students. Shiva falls in love with a classmate (Disha Pandey), and does everything a regular Tamil hero does to win the heroine in films like Kadhalukku Mariyathai, Mouna Ragam, Mozhi etc. When the heroine’s father says he will not allow his daughter to marry a poor man with no job, Shiva works overtime and becomes a tycoon overnight just like what Rajinikanth did in Annamalai, Padyappa, Sivajietc, etc. Meanwhile it is revealed that he is an undercover cop who wants to exterminate the criminals in the city. Shiva’s method of eliminating the criminals are far better than what Vijay did in Tirupachi and Pokkiri, Suriya inGhajini and Khakka Khakka, Vikram in Anniyan and Kamal Hassan in Apoorva Sahodrakal. Even more hilarious is how Shiva goes back to his village in search of his father who abandoned him many years back. And the climax is when he discovers who runs the ‘D’ company is hilarious.

On the downside, it gets predictable post interval though the film is only 2 hours and 5 minutes. Rajinikanth, Vijay. Vijayakanth, Simbu have been targetted mainly while some other superstars have been spared. Some scenes appear most stupid but thoroughly enjoyable. Mainly Shiva’s classical dance piece to impress his girl friend, and rip off of many fight scenes (mainly from Vijay films), court scene and the judge in the climax, and popular dialogues of Kamal and Vijaykanth have come good. The director and dialogue writer CS Amudhan’s laughs are spot on, punctuated by the scripts outrageous glossary of over-the-top depiction of Tamil film stereotypes. Nirav Shah’s camera and Kannan’s music mainly the song O Maha Zeeya..

This New Year was something special for me. Usually every year i would like the enjoy the new year with friends in the beach. but each year i missed due to some or the other reasons. But this new year was something special for me. My friends have arrived to my home on december 31st night 10 p.m. We took the car and planned to go for a restaurant and had our dinner. We finished our lunch by 11.20 and decided to go to besant nagar beach in chennai. We purchased a cake and decided to cut it at 12 a.m. When we reached besant nagar beach we were shocked because there was eavy traffic and we could not find a place to park our car. The streets were heavily crowded and finally we parked our car 1 k.m from the beach and walked to the beach. We could see many people with families and friends were enjoying the night. When the time was closing near 12 a.m the thrill increased. Everyone were shouting and finally the awaited minute have come. When the clock ticked 12 a.m everyone shouted Happy new year and wished each other. We too cut our cake and shared with many others. Many wished us and we went to temple. But due to some reasons the temples were closed. So we decided to return home. It took time to drive the car in those traffic streets. We reached home by 2 a.m. This was one of the happiest moments in my life which i can never forget.

Except for a few known faces including a cameo by Prakash Raj, the movie largely has debutants in the lead with Jayvanth playing the lead. The story is big enough to be scribbled in a post-it note. The protagonist earns the ire of a gangster after crossing roads with him but merits the love of his daughter. He goes on to make a movie with the help of his daughter but when it was ready for release, the enraged father pulls out all the stops to prevent it from screening.
But in the process, he ends up with blood in his hand. Repenting for his act and seeking peace, he goes back to the slum and starts serving the poor who he earlier treated like slaves. Dramatic indeed. The movie heaves its way through the total duration with no specific drive in the plot. The screenplay is ridden with loopholes and the strictly so-so performances do nothing to improve the proceedings. Kanja Karuppu’s comedy induces yawn than laughter.
Your surprise of spotting Ilayaraja’s name in the opening credits remains just that, a surprise. Neither the songs nor the background score has any Ilayaraja stamp on it, surprisingly. And if that’s not enough, there’s another surprise in the name of Karthik Raja, he’s the cinematographer of the movie.The name Mathiya Chennai might evoke a sense of revulsion but the movie is not about repulsive gangsters or gang wars. It’s a rather plain story of love and loss that treads the same old path of love, vengeance, guilt and other dramatic emotions.

First, the theme itself makes the film worth more than just a look. Set in Wayanad (the northern part of Kerala) in the late 18th century, the movie traces the path of Pazhassi Raja (Mammootty) who showed the courage to defy the powerful colonial forces that were threatening to take over his motherland. While kingdoms around him were making hurried alliances with the foreign forces to avoid war, and bending to every wish and whim and rule laid down by them, Pazhassi Raja felt it unacceptable that people who were allowed into the country for trade should begin to dictate terms. His defiance obviously doesn’t go down too well with the forces and a clash is inevitable. The colonial forces, armed with guns and cannons expect to overrun the sword and spear-wielding army of the Raja. The Raja does suffer losses, and is eventually forced to seek refuge in the thick jungles of north Kerala about which the British don’t have a clue. But, this is not before the very core of the British forces has been shaken by the valiant resistance that was put up, when they were expecting a meek surrender in an unevenly matched battle. In the jungle, with his faithful followers consisting of his trusted lieutenant Edachena Kunkan (Sarath Kumar), Pazhassi Raja gathers his forces for a powerful retaliation. He finds willing and able allies in the Tribals, led by Thalakkathu Chanthu (Manoj K Jayan), who know the jungles like no one else does. They devise a hitherto untried plan to counter the firepower of the British, guerilla warfare. In the thick cover of the jungle, the plan is perfect as the foreign forces don’t have a clue about who is hitting them and from where. It looks as if bow and arrow might ultimately get the better of the gun. But, treason lurks and it turns the course of events. But, the fight is not over yet.

The Raja’s men shall not drop arms until none of them stands. That is what Pazhassi Raja is all about, a tale of martyrdom. Everyone in the cast has given their heart to the role. It is not always that an actor gets such an opportunity. Mammootty lives the role of Pazhassi Raja. Majestic and commanding, one of his best performances. The points when he has to try hard to summon courage and resilience Music by Ilayaraja carries the Maestro mark as usual. Resool Pookutty contributes with a fine effort, sounds come alive.Pazhassi Raja is a film that reminds us of the price at which freedom came. India won the test match today by an innings and144 runs against Srilanka. India records its 100 th test match win. Also India now moves to no:1 spot in world test cricket. India achieved their biggest victory against Sri Lanka and in the process clinched their 100th Test win on the fourth day of the second Test in Kanpur. India's previous best against their neighbors was a victory by an innings and 119 runs in 1994 and they bettered that record with ease today. Thilan Samaraweera hit an assured fifty to provide some resistance but it was always going to be just a matter of time before India wrapped up the game.The only question at the start of the day was how long Sri Lanka will delay the inevitable and though they looked to be positive, adding 149 runs in the first session, India kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. Samaraweera was involved in two fighting partnerships with Prasanna Jayawardene and Ajantha Mendis, which not only proved that the pitch wasn't bad but also showed the top order in poor light.
Samaraweera proceeded to stitch together a 61-run partnership with Prasanna who, much like in the first innings, flattered to deceive. He was looking good with his cuts and sweeps but was cleaned up by a fine off break from round the stumps from Harbhajan Singh. It drifted away and broke back in but Prasanna left a big bat-pad gap and was bowled. Muttiah Muralitharan indulged himself with a typical hit-and-giggle knock filled with slog sweeps but fell, going for yet another big hit.
Samaraweera, who then added 73 runs with a determined Ajantha Mendis to frustrate India, was rarely troubled during his stay, the highlight of which was a whippy on-drive to a delivery on off and middle stump line from Sreesanth. He has had a stellar 2009 and he played yet another pleasing knock. He rarely looked hurried, tackled the spinners and seamers well and unfurled many pleasing on drives. The caravan now moves to Mumbai for the third Test that starts on December 2.

This time the company has come up with a half fairing version of the Yamaha FZ16, which has been christened Yamaha Fazer. Yamaha Motors India has launched the 2009 model of V-Max in Indian market. V-Max is priced at Rs. 20,00,000.Yamaha also launched 3 limited edition variants of FZ Series. Yamaha India has attacked the 150cc bike segment once again with the launch of another variant of FZ16 after the success of FZ-S. Fazer is powered by the same 153cc engine which powers the FZ16 & FZ-S, though i expected a new engine as the weight of Fazer is more than its siblings due to the front fairing. Power output is more or less the same. The air cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC engine which generates maximum power of 14 Bhp at 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 14 Nm at 6000 rpm. The 153cc engine of this bike is designed for the urban commute. The broad tyres, low center of gravity and high torque at low rpm makes it a breeze to drive in city traffic.

The bike has a more relaxed seating posture thanks to a little lifted handlebar which prevents fatigue and aids to the comfort for the backbone making it more comfortable for highway riding. NAYANTHARA AND PRABUDEVA LOVE WAVES

After Asin, Trisha and Priyamani, Nayantara, one more South Indian queen, is set to enter Bollywood. It is heard that choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva plans to make a Hindi film with Nayan in the lead. Prabhu Deva is currently directing his first Hindi film, the Salman Khan starrer Wanted: Dead or Alive (Hindi remake of his Tamil blockbuster Pokkiri), and is getting many offers in Hindi even before its release. The proposed Hindi film directed by Prabhu Deva and with Nayan in the lead will reportedly go on floors once Prabhu Deva completes the Salman starrer and director Thangar Bachan's Kalavadia Pozhudhugal, in which he is the hero. Prabhu Deva is said to be dating Nayantara and it was even alleged that they tied the knot at Tirupathi recently. But the duo vehemently denied these rumours. Some sources in Kollywood also say Nayan recently took Prabhu Deva to Dubai to introduce him to her brother.

Nayantara and Prabhu Deva sitting together at the South Scope Style awards function in Hyderabad naturally drew the attention of mediapersons. When Nayan attended the recent All India Workers' Federation gala function at Chennai, she reportedly stayed in a three star hotel to avoid a confrontation with Prabhu Deva's wife Ramlath who was frantically looking for her in five hotels. JAGANMOHINI - MOVIE REVIEW

Remaking cult classics isn’t really a bad idea, but what made the original Jaganmohini tick was its imaginative plot premise and the visual effects, done with very modest technical advancements available during the seventies. Jaganmohini is the remake of veteran Vittalacharya’s horror-comedy of the same name. The latest version that has Namitha in the quintessential-ghost-with-an-unrequited-love role, however, lacks the required finesse to hold your attention and with a choppy screenplay the movie ends up more comic than horror. That’s not to mention, we also have Vadivelu in the cast with less than desired results. The story, as we all know, feels like it’s taken straight out of the Amar Chitra Katha series. Namitha gets murdered for having fallen in love with a prince. Despite her death, she seeks the love of her life, the prince, Raja. However, the prince also has a suitable bride, Nila, within the family. To win Raja over, Namitha also must fight an evil sorcerer, Kota Srinivasa Rao, who sets out to capture the prince for his human-sacrifice that will bestow colossal powers upon him. That is Jaganmohini’s plot in a nutshell. There’s also the wicked prince from the neighboring state Riyaz Khan, his father Bala Singh and Vadivelu, who plays Namitha’s brother.

If not anything, the plot has immense scope to amuse kids, but falls short with only a few visual effect scenes promising to hold attention – like the one in which Namitha attacks the village after taking a water form. Namitha’s fans might enjoy her in a full-fledged role where she gets to rule the screen for the major part of the movie. With her enormous frame, she does a neat job of a ghost – no pun intended, of course. The climax would have suited the seventies, but since we have evolved so much over the past 30 something years, it looks and feels so preposterous. It’s even doubtful that your kid might like that kind of lame climax. The N. K. Vishwanathan directed Jaganmohini is neither spooky nor amusing. Even if you are a die-hard Namitha fan, don’t be surprised if you become incensed towards the end of the movie, for she’s all over it.
